President Obama--Kayne West
I rarely agree with the President, but when he said Kanye West "Kanye West was an asshole." I had to agree. Wheather it was meant for public ears or not, he got it correct this time. What Kanye West did was out of line and uncalled for. Kanye West was/is a number one "ass hole".

Patrick Swayze
I was so sad to hear of his death. I greatly admired this man, appreciated his acting ability and lets face it he was a hunk. He could play anything, from the bad boy personal, to the bad ass, to the tender loving man who could show emotion and tears. Add to that, he could dance. Oh yea and did I mention he was a hunk. lol. May you rest in peace, Patrick. Blessing and huggs to his to his wife. This will not be an easy time for her.

Well as you can see after being absent for a few days I am more or less back. Computer problems, flu, life. I'm still running a fever and not feeling the best so my time here will probably be limited. I still want to just sleep and sleep.

A quiet day and a quiet week
Even the pets are just chillin'. Still I'm glad it is Friday. I really accomplished very little this week.
I repainted a tv tray that my son Bryan ruined while he was here. Nothing special, but it looks better then what it did, and Rich uses it for a computer table in the tv/sitting room. I also fixed a new cover for his laptop cushion he uses at the motel. His has no padding left.
Then I got Nakia's & Cyndiloo's feeding area, cleaned. Bowls washed out and cleaned, floor scrubbed around the area, and a new little throw rug thrown down under the bowls. I noticed I've got to go get doggy food this weekend.
I don't even seperate the cat & dog food anymore. Cyndi ate out of the cats dish and the cat would eat out of the dog dish. So I eliminated one. Nakia eats first, because she "RULES', over Cyndi and then Cyndi gets fed. If Nakia is so inclined, to let the dog up to the dish. Usually Nakia lays in front of it and guards it for the first hour. It is nice to have our kitty back and back to her normal self. I'm so glad they didn't have to put her down.
My laptop is down. Is down, so if you don't see me on line or see any posts that is why.
Have a great and safe weekend. God Bless

They call these Round Ripples. (RR)
This is my 2nd RR. I fell in love with this pattern. I love how it lays much better then the 9pt below. This is a baby gift. I used RH sport weight in a lavender and an H hook.
This is my first RR. It is a 9 pt. Done in CSS yarn, M hook. Colors are (center out) Bone, Pine, Natural and Country Wine. I think I may make this bigger. At this point is would make a good lapghan. But not much more and the colors are not a good for a baby blanket. It would make a could table topper though. I thought I really liked this pattern until I tried the lavender one.Posted by CrochetMeMad at 8:35 PM 0 comments

Scripture & Prayer
Psalms 100:1-2 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
I'm open to happiness today, Lord. Please remind me that joy does not always come from getting what I want, but in letting go of what I don't need.

Scripture and warm Wednesday
James 1:17 Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
When I say "Thank You" today, let me remember to Whom, ultimately, all gratitude is due.
What 5 things makes me feel warm inside. Gives me that "i'm thankful to be alive feeling".
1. The smell of baby.
2. The smile of a child.
3. A flower in bloom
4. The smell of freshly cut grass.
5. The warmth of hugging someone and telling them I love you.
6. The warmth of being hugged back and hearing the words I love you.
Ok so I got more than 5 today.

Scripture and Prayer
Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you...and give you peace.
Lord my life is a scrapeghan of light and dark colors. Each of my experiences and emotions are recorded there. But I long for a peaceful space in my being where I can stop and gather up the ragged pieces of my day and crochet them back together. Take me to your place of peace, rest and renewal so I may be revived and continue to crochet my life's story. Lord, thank You for the beautiful weekend. For time spent with my husband and just being together. Thank you for the wonderful weather and the peace a good nights rest can bring. Continue to watch over loved one, far and near. Continue to heal and comfort those in need. In your Loving name we pray Amen.

Things Children Have to Say About Angels
When an angel gets mad, he takes a deep breath and counts to ten. And when he lets out his breath again, somewhere there's a tornado.
Angels live in cloud houses made by God and his son, who's a very good carpenter.
My angel is my grandma who died last year. She got a big head start on helping me while she was still down here on earth.
What I don't get about angels is why, when someone is in love, they shoot arrows at them.

A special prayer for a friend
Her biopsy was rescheduled for later, in a way a relief. I worry about her and her age. Although a biopsy is a necessary evil. arggg
A dear friend of mine is going in for a biopsy tomorrow for the growth in her lung. She has advanced COPD and other health problems therefor just a biopsy can be a great risk. Please join in a prayer for her safety during the surgery.
Our heavenly father, please protect & watch over Mary K. as she goes through this ordeal. Keep her strong and wrap your loving arms around her in an armour steel. Strengthen her both in body and mind but also in spirit. Comfort her children, grandchildren, sister and friends during this time.
We know all things are possible with YOU & your amazing SON. In your name I pray amen.
Keep strong big sis, we are praying for you. Love ya.

Apple Brown Betty
APPLE BROWN BETTY (this was a recipe my momma used. Not sure where she got it from but it is delicious. A few alterations to meet my diabetic needs now.
2 c. bread crumbs (I mix some apple pie spice seasoning in with the bread crumbs about 1/2 t.)
1/4 c. butter, melted
3/4 c. splenda brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 apples, chopped (about 2 cups)
For crumb mixture, mix bread crumbs and melted butter; set aside. For sugar mixture, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla; set aside. For apple mixture, mix chopped apples; set aside. Assembly: Place in a pam sprayed baking dish a layer of apples, bread crumbs and half of sugar. Repeat Top that with sugar mixture. Repeat layers ending with crumbs on top. and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Add 1/4 cup hot water, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove cover and brown. Serve with whipped cream or french vanilla ice cream. This never fails to be a pleaser of my two boys. Now adults. Also excellent with other fruit.

Trashy Tuesday--insulin syringes
As most of you know I am a diabetic. So I always have syringes and pin needles in purse to check my blood and give myself insuling. Disposing of the syringe needle and the pin needle can be a problem. What I've done is save my medicene bottles. Create a small hole in the lid and then hot glue around the lid so it can't be removed. I take a small square piece of duct tape, just big enough to cover the hole in the cover when one edge folded over for easy lift. I throw one of these containers in my purse and when traveling I break the needle into the old med bottle & cover the hole back with the tape. When it is full of old needles. I spray paint in red & mark hazard material and dispose of accordingly. This is free, compared to the cost of buying the little containers they sell in the store that can easily be carried in your purse. (12 for around 10.00). For home use. I save old tide, bleach bottles. Dispose of the syringe with the needle broken off into the tide or bleach bottle and when full do the same thing. Hot glue the lid, so it can't be removed easily. Paint red (unless its a Tide or Era bottle) Mark hazard and dispose accordingly.
I really wish there was another way to handle the needles, syringes and lancets and such. I break the needle off. So no one can reuse the syringe and mark the containers clearly so NO ONE (hopefuly), accidently pokes themselves but I still cringe at the thought of it. I go through a lot of these babies. Two reg insulins shots a day using syringes and three insulin shots a day using a cartridge and pin needles, plus the disposale of at least 6 to 10 used test strips a day and the lancet needle that goes with that part of it.

Scripture and Prayer
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's son, full of grace and truth.
Thank You, Word from God, for being willing to take on a new form. But so much more a blessing for those who saw you and for those like me who can only cling to their report.
Lord, thank You for this Monday. For the blessings you have given us. Lord, continue to keep Mary, Clarice & Lucretia in your stead fast arms. Heal those that need healed, give comfort to those that need comfort. Be ALL that You so wonderously are to every one. Continue to protect my loved ones, my friends and my family. Bless and keep up in your name I pray. Amen
