Package Recieved from Swap Partner on Ravlery

I received my package from my shawl swap partner over on Ravlery. This is all goodies that were in my box. 1. A Journal with the letter "G" on it. 2. The silvery shawl rolled up with its shawl pins. 3. Two candles one in a tin called "herb gardern", 4. the other sea scape with glass holders. 5. Two wonderful skeens of Bamboo yarn, I've been wanting to try this, but didn't want to part with the money. Yippee. 6. Left over material from shawl and some silver buttons to use if I want to add to it. 7. Ginger Tea, she read ginger is suppose to help with fybro. How sweet was that of her to look that up. 8. Note card and some post cards from Japan and France to add to my collection. Pictures of the shawl open and up close on next post.

The open shawl. Isn't it just gorgeous. She must have knitted her little fingers off. Makes me ALMOST want to take up knitting. BTW, she doesn't crochet. So this was a perfect match. I had the shawl on yesterday evening when the air conditoner was just a little to much and I wasn't having a hot flash moment but a "chilly" moment. I don't bother shutting the air off anylong since the the chills don't last long. Nor do the hot flashes.

The shawl folded, showing the two pins she included with them. They have little rhinestones on them.
I have her shawl almost done. I have some finish work to do on it and then send her package off. I wont post the pictures of her shawl here until I know she has received it.

One of my mama's favorite jokes

this was one of my mama's favorite jokes. she had such a funny sense of humor for an old lady. Another friend sent this one to me, it was such a nice reminder. Enjoy

BETTER THAN A FLU SHOT!
Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties and had never been married. She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all. One afternoon the pastor came to callon her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea. As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a cute glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water, and in thewater floated, of all things, a condom! When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and itsstrange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist. 'MissBeatrice', he said. 'I wonder if you would tell me about this?' Pointing to the bowl. 'Oh, yes,' she replied. 'Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter..

Scripture and bla day

Romans 2 6-7 He will repay according to each one's deeds; to those who by patiently doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality: he will give eternal life.

Today is one of the those bla days. Lots of rain yesterday, today is cloudy and over casted and looks like its going to be really humid and then of course hubby left for Chicago for the week. Add to that Nakia had to go to a no kill animal shelter today. I got Nakia as a BD gift from hubby out in Colorado in 2003 then it got to the point with all of our traveling to New York, Chicago she was spending so much time with the in laws we let them keep her. This past week my FIL went to Florida to be with his sister who needs a kidney transplant and mil went to stay with one of her daughters. FIL said he didn't want the kitty back. We didn't realize how tempermental and mean she had gotten while with them. And just plain unsocialble. (Well the unsocialbe part I noticed when we would go to visit them which was so unlike her.) After two days of having her, we are showing battle scars and she drew real, deep blood with hubby and bit him add to the fact I've had to double up on my allergy medication, we just decided it wasn't worth it. So off she goes. I'm sad to see her go. But I need my eyes to not be swelled shut and I need to know that we aren't going to be seriously hurt by her. I would take an extra allergy pill or shots if she hadn't turned so dern mean. I'm not sure what caused the transformation but it saddens me. I am sure they were not mistreating her, so maybe it is just age. Non the less it still makes me sad and a bit teary eyed. I know for hubby as well, he really did not want to take her. They use to be the best of pals. However I did notice that she started to come to him less and less when we would visit the IL.

Prayer Monday, Scripture

Isaiah 30:21 When you turn to the right or when you turn to the left, your ears shall hear a word behind you, daying, "this is the way; walk in it."

In this retreat to quiet, I can begin to name the things that seem to be saying"yes" and "no" to me. I will remain open to the possibility that withing them is YOUR voice.
Lord all of your days you've given us are precious days. Today is just as precious. Thank you for keeping us safe over the weekend. For the rains we received Sunday & Monday to water or pour dry plants. For family and friends, children. They are our reason for being.
Lord please as we continue to lift Mary K up in prayer. Heal her or give her the strength to face each and every day. Take this awful disease from her body and make her strong and healthy again. Keep an eye on my friend Marsha as she goes through the daily trials of taking care of an elderly in her home. Protect Gene & Harold as they fly out to Florida to see Lucretia and bring back her MH. Let a kidney become available for Lucretia and let it give her body the healing she so needs.
Watch over Troy & Maribels new baby boy. Keep and eye on my neice Jeanifer as she goes through the last stages of her pregnancy. Keep both my boys safe and in your site. In your name I pray, all things are possible. Amen
