Thanksgiving & Prayer request

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Ours was very quiet, we watched movies. Didn't even go to any black Friday sales.

We've had several people sick over Thanksgiving. So please keep the following in your prayers and thoughts.

Marsha's dad, Lucretia Yocum, Guy Morse. Lucretia is home and doing better, but Guy and Marsha's dad are still in the hospital.

Your in are thoughts and prayers.

Just because

Beauty is Natures coin, must not be hoarded, but must be current, and the good thereof consists in mutual and partaken bliss... John Milton

Haven't really been up to much. Not even much crocheting at this time. All though I am making a couple of hats for dear Mary, with chemo, comes the hair loss and she is feeling the chill now.

Still somewhat in a bit of a funk, but it is getting better slowly.

Good morning all

Our week here began on a sad note. A relative died (Carl) and rarely can a person say that there was a silver lining or rainbow at the end of ones death. But this individual choice to give life by dying. We have another relative (Lucretia) who has been in need of a kidney transplant and is the recipient of Carl's kidneys. So we are sad and will miss Carl but we are happy and excited that Lucretia will be given another chance at life.

The week will end on a happy note. We have a wedding to attend Saturday. Rich's son Rick is getting married. Yea. Rich is working from home and the SUN is shining. I'm still a bit in my mood but slowly coming out of it.

Middle of the week & prayer

Psalms 7:1 O Lord my God, in you I take refuge.
Where else can I turn when no power of my own can produce a solution? May I make that movement toward you, even before I try to do it own my own. Lord, why does my heart, mind and soul feel so gray these past few weeks. Is it the pain from the headaches, the pain from my wrists. What ever it is o Lord, lighten my heart, relieve the pain and bring the sun (son) back into my life. Only you have the power to heal make the sun shine again. In your name I pray amen.

It is the middle of the week and it feels like it should be Friday. So ready for this week to be over, then again if we keep getting all this rain it really doesn't matter, one week looks like the next and of course we will go from the rain to the freezing ice and snow.

Sick and tired of Illinois weather. Doesn't really matter what time of the year it is it is WET!! Wet, cold, snow and ice. Wet Spring, humid, wet summers, wet falls and back to wet cold winters. ugggg.

So in case you have noticed i'm down. Down and disgusted and can't seem to get out of this mood. Even planning for Josh's bd this Saturday and what to send him and thinking of Christmas has not cheered me up.

remiss in posting

No excuse really. Just haven't felt like blogging. I'd ask for your apologize, but who do I ask for it? Seems no one reads or post here, so I really doubt any one misses me. ahahahha, oh well.

Raining all week long. Of course it would, Rich took this week off to work around home and most of the work was outside work. Such is our life. All the rain has caused a hurendous headache. "Cluster headeaches", and I've been mean & bitchy or crying and sleeping. I love spring and autumn. The colors the cool air, but every time a storm comes in my head pounds. Of course this isn't anything. Wait until winter hits. My headaches get even worse in the winter. uggggg.

Hubby in Lewistown today, trying to track down a wiring problem in the MH. He and his dad may need to rewire the whole thing. It is an electrical nightmare. Says the person who added things into it, knew just enough to be dangerous. Figures. I doubt we will get to use it this year.

Moved all cd's and dvd's into there shelves in the sitting room. So much more to do and so much envolves hand work, that I'm not accomplishing anything, much to my husbands disgust. Hard to much with my hand always wrapped and if it isn't wrapped it is hurting. Seems, this was a wasted vacation.

TGIF.

Email from Mary on her Package

This is a part of the email Mary sent me after receiving her package. I am so glad she like it. Goldie
Oh my goodness, your package came today, with 3 of my 4 sons and one of my grandsons having to see and telling me how pretty, and nice it is!! I told you I would cry!!! I love it, so don't start picking it, don't even go there. I don't see anything but beauty there, with a friend/little Sis sitting there crocheting it, and the cute angel. We thought that so cute as well. I'm looking for a place to put it right close to remind me, "Goldie cares!!" I told the boys, Uncle Jim's youngest sister made that! One thought you had knitted it, but I told them differently. I don't know if the 2 older boys remember when my mother crocheted. but I never could, but I tried, and just made a mess of things. I don't remember Mama ever making an afghan, or throw. One of the boys said it goes around my shoulders to keep me warm. :-) I love it, and it's now lying across the foot of my bed, so I can see and enjoy it. Goldie, I think the maker of something is always much more critical of their own work than anyone, but you're being way too critical about this, and it brings me such joy to just look at it! :-) I'll remember this as your arms wrapped around me in a good hug, and then also, I picture you and Rich praying together. I love those thoughts!!! :-)
I love you dear Goldie, and thank both you and Rich for praying for my family and me. I loved your hard copy letter!!! :-) I too have enjoyed our family talks. I would have written you earlier today, but I just really felt lousy. That doesn't mean every day will be so bad, but at least parts of them hopefully will be more tolerable, and most likely we'll be talking as long as I'm here and able. God Bless both you, and Rich, Little Sis!!!
Again, I can't even put into words how much I treasure my gifts of love from you. :-) I'm going to leave them right out there where everyone can see and enjoy them. :-) Thank you!!!

President Obama--Kayne West

I rarely agree with the President, but when he said Kanye West "Kanye West was an asshole." I had to agree. Wheather it was meant for public ears or not, he got it correct this time. What Kanye West did was out of line and uncalled for. Kanye West was/is a number one "ass hole".

Patrick Swayze

I was so sad to hear of his death. I greatly admired this man, appreciated his acting ability and lets face it he was a hunk. He could play anything, from the bad boy personal, to the bad ass, to the tender loving man who could show emotion and tears. Add to that, he could dance. Oh yea and did I mention he was a hunk. lol. May you rest in peace, Patrick. Blessing and huggs to his to his wife. This will not be an easy time for her.

Well as you can see after being absent for a few days I am more or less back. Computer problems, flu, life. I'm still running a fever and not feeling the best so my time here will probably be limited. I still want to just sleep and sleep.

A quiet day and a quiet week

Even the pets are just chillin'. Still I'm glad it is Friday. I really accomplished very little this week.

I repainted a tv tray that my son Bryan ruined while he was here. Nothing special, but it looks better then what it did, and Rich uses it for a computer table in the tv/sitting room. I also fixed a new cover for his laptop cushion he uses at the motel. His has no padding left.

Then I got Nakia's & Cyndiloo's feeding area, cleaned. Bowls washed out and cleaned, floor scrubbed around the area, and a new little throw rug thrown down under the bowls. I noticed I've got to go get doggy food this weekend.

I don't even seperate the cat & dog food anymore. Cyndi ate out of the cats dish and the cat would eat out of the dog dish. So I eliminated one. Nakia eats first, because she "RULES', over Cyndi and then Cyndi gets fed. If Nakia is so inclined, to let the dog up to the dish. Usually Nakia lays in front of it and guards it for the first hour. It is nice to have our kitty back and back to her normal self. I'm so glad they didn't have to put her down.

My laptop is down. Is down, so if you don't see me on line or see any posts that is why.

Have a great and safe weekend. God Bless

12 pt. Dbl Stranded Round Ripple

12 pt round ripple, done with dbl strands of CSS yarn and an M Hook. Dbl Stitch all the way around. Can you see my boo boo? I managed to get some non matching yarn into the mix. If it had gone all the way around it would have been ok, because the color actually looks good with the rest of it. Other than that. I love these 12 pts. They go up so quick and fast. This took about 2 days to do and that was no non stop crocheting. I think I like these even better then grannies. Now I have to figure out whose pattern I was using so I can send them a huge thank you. I've really struggle to learn how to do pointed RR. They almost eluded me as much as the ripple ghan did. But I am stubborn and I got them both down. Now I Have to decide if this is good enough for a gift or even charity.

They call these Round Ripples. (RR)

This is my 2nd RR. I fell in love with this pattern. I love how it lays much better then the 9pt below. This is a baby gift. I used RH sport weight in a lavender and an H hook.

This is my first RR. It is a 9 pt. Done in CSS yarn, M hook. Colors are (center out) Bone, Pine, Natural and Country Wine. I think I may make this bigger. At this point is would make a good lapghan. But not much more and the colors are not a good for a baby blanket. It would make a could table topper though. I thought I really liked this pattern until I tried the lavender one.

Matching Hats and Scarfs

Peach & Cream Scarf & hat. The hat is actually more white then cream. Little flower on the hat. I think again, this will be a gift for some little one out in Colorado.

Pink & Grey scarf and hat. I think this set will go to a neice or great neice in Colorado for a gift.

Another Scarf for a child

Another Childs Scarf. Made with scrap yarn, M hook. Pointed tip again.

A couple of Scarfs. 1 For a child and 1 for an adult. Gift or Charity.

This was made with more scrap yarn. Adult size. Using an M hook and my pointed tip. Again. I just think the pointed tips to the scarf are fun!! Yes I would wear it.

Stripped blue scarf for a child. Pointed tip. Made with an M hook and a combination of RH and CSS. (Basically left over yarn.)

Scripture & Prayer

Psalms 100:1-2 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.

I'm open to happiness today, Lord. Please remind me that joy does not always come from getting what I want, but in letting go of what I don't need.
