Mandatory Volunteerism? compulsory volunteerism was passed by house & senate and signed into law in april 2009. Can anyone explain to me how being forced to volunteer is any different from slavery? Check out http://lisaizme.blogspot.com/2009/07/mandatory-volunteerism.html to learn a little more about this.

Scripture, Prayer
The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
You have promised an all-encompassing peace, Lord. May I take this moment and embrace the quiet joy of being in your sunlight. Please grant peace to all those who troubled Lord. You know the needs. In your name I pray. Amen.

Scripture & Prayer
Psalm 18:30 (NIV) As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
As you can see i'm late getting online today. I had a long night. I have severe gastric problems. To the point the acid from my stomach gets into my throat, sinus and just burns and then triggers asthma attacks. I even vomit pure foam. The insurance company is 2nd guessing my doctors. For almost a year I've been pretty much heartburn free. The wonderful doctor put me on not one nexium but two a day. One in the a.m. and one at night. Within weeks my asthma attacks had started to clear up. I was having 3/4 a day. The burning, battery acid coming from my stomach started to lesson and I was able to move from a constant diet of the B.R.A.T. diet. A year later, my life had gone to pretty much normal. In one fatal swoop, the insurance company messed it all up. They said there was no reason to take two nexium today, that is way over the recommended dosage, and refused to pay their portion. To make matters worse, they have refused to pay for the 1 pill a day. So I have been back on prilosec for almost 3 weeks. I'm telling you I have no use for this stuff. I've tried it a dozen times before, it just doesn't work. Last night was the worst its been in awhile. It took to prilosec and (emergency dose of nexium), alka seltzer at 3:00 am, tums at 4. Herbal tummy tea all night long. Finally around 5 I got some relief and got a few hours sleep almost in a complete sitting up position.
Today I had 1 c. apple sauce, 2 baked chicken tenders and it started again, by 3 this afternoon, i thought someone uncorked a battery in my stomach. By the time hubby gets home on Friday I just may be in the ER. I know my medication is the biggest culprit in all this, and there just is now way around some of my medications.
So please if your reading this pray for me. Lord, you know whats going on with my body. Please give me relief, heal my stomach and make me whole. In your name I pray amen.

This is my ripple afghan I'm working on. The colors are css wine, css pine, rh Aran Fleck. As you can see by the scarf posted below this post. I found the blanket at the goodwill, it was brand new, still had new tag and I paid .99cents for it. _________The 2nd one is a scarf made out of scrap yarn in a several granny's. All the yarn is RH. Next to it is an hat, I was just working in circles in sc and then did dbl stitches. Scripture & Prayer Monday
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
_________________
Our heavenly father we thank you for the wonderful weekend you gave us. For keeping loved ones safe as they were out celebrating the 4th. Lord we ask that you continue your blessings as my husband makes his drive to Chicago for the week. Keep him safe. Lord I offer up a prayer for all those that I love that are sick (some with cancer, some with kidney disease, some with failure of there site, diabetes, lupus, fibromylasia, heart disease, MS, allergies, asthmas, COPD) The list seems so long, yet I know you are all powerful and can heal, comfort and protect all if it is your will.
Lord help me to be more open about a move to Chicag0. I know it would make things easier for my hubby. I know there are christians there, I know there are good people, communities there, help to get over this fear and if it is you will then I believe a house will open that is just meant to be ours. I will try to be open to your will, NO I will be open to your will.
Lord thank you for all you have done, continue to do. I am truly lucky to have you in my life. You are "ALL". I was made to love you & adore you. Amen

Isaiah 12:4
In that day you will say: "Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.
-----------
The rain is over and we seem to be back to a beautiful Sunday. I think!!! I really wouldn't know. I woke up sick this morning and i've slept most of the day, running hot on/off most of the night. Hubby and I shared a fuzzy navel yesterday and I guess it got to me. Can you believe 1 watered down fuzzy navel and I was out of it. Will make sure we don't do that one again.
Hubby has the sub floor down and is getting ready to lay the tile in the craft room. I doubt we will get to move stuff in this weekend. (I orginally wanted to paint the paneling and get some wall paper trim up, but that doesn't look like it will happen. (so sad) I could only find one store that had wp in stock and that was menards. It was such a sad selection. Home Depot and Lowes had a special order on their stuff. I did find a couple a walmart I liked, but it was not what " I really had invisioned and I'd rather not put anything up up then be unhappy with it later.
--------------
I'm getting ready to make a comfortsquare for a friend and I could have swore I had "rose" colored yarn in my stash. It turns out its a "plum wine and a baby blush". Arggg, I still call it a rose color. It will have to do though. I've been put on yarn restrictions by myself for awhile.
I worked on what was suppose to be a baby hat yesterday. I messed up somewhere. Wrong hook, to many rounds, not sure but it fits my head now. I made two baby hats a few months ago and they were fine, now I can't get it again. hmmmm. Brain burp or something. Not much else going on. I'm still working on my ripple blanket, a ripple scarf and some other odd projects. I need to get to work on Sasha's queen comforter, but I've run out of steam on it and just feel like piddling around with little things at the moment. Hopefuly i'll get inspired this next week. I also have a shawl I need to start on. I have an idea on it, but can't get to technically incase my swap partner is reading this site.
Well thats it for this Sunday. Happy day after 4th.

Ten Way to Tame your appetite
I know most of us know this, but I feel with the 4th upon us and a fun filled, pack summer it bears repeating. Have a wonderful 4th and please be safe and responsible. Goldie
Ten Ways to Tame your Appetite (www.calorieking.com)
~ Weight Loss Tips ~
1.Don't get too hungry. It may seem obvious, but if you want to control your appetite, it's important not to get too hungry. If you don't eat enough, you'll easily get too hungry and cave in to high calorie, fast-energy foods. Eat regular meals and two planned snacks a day to avoid getting too hungry.
2. Ask yourself if you're truly hungry. "Emotional hunger" is what prompts you to eat when you're not physically hungry. True hunger only occurs when you have not had enough calories or fat to satisfy physiological needs. If you feel hungry, think about when you last ate and what you ate, and whether or not you have physical symptoms of hunger such as lightheadedness and a rumbling stomach. If you're not physically hungry, ask yourself if there are other reasons why you feel like eating, such as stress or boredom, and respond to those triggers with something other than food. For example, go for a walk, dig some weeds, or call a friend.
3. Drink water and take ten. Sometimes, what you recognize as hunger is actually thirst. If you feel hungry, try drinking a glass of water, take some deep breaths and tell yourself that you can eat, but in ten minutes. If you are not truly hungry, the feeling will pass after ten minutes and you will have saved on calories. Or if it doesn't pass, nothing is lost - you can eat something to curb the hunger.
4. Let yourself feel a little hunger. If you're feeling hungry after a meal or snack, keep in mind that it's also okay to feel less than full after you've eaten. In fact, most people who have lost weight and kept it off have learned to be comfortable with this feeling.
5. Don't get too tired. Too little sleep affects hunger and appetite hormones adversely. If you're struggling to control your appetite, make sure that you're getting enough sleep.
6. Steer clear of appetitestimulating foods. Keep foods that tempt you out of your line of sight - out of the house, away from your desk, out of the car. Remember - out of sight, out of mind!
7.Beware of buffets. Appetites go into overdrive when eating at a buffet. In fact, people eat up to 60 percent more when there is variety. Commit to eating no more than three selections, and take your time eating, allowing the food to digest slowly.
8. Eat appetite-curbing foods. Some foods stimulate appetite while others satisfy it. Low-fiber and caloriedense foods, such as candy and cookies, generally increase appetite. On the other hand, high-fiber, bulky foods curb appetite. So when you get a hunger pang, don’t reach for the cookie jar, instead grab a tasty, highfiber, low-calorie food to get you through the initial pang. Particularly good are foods such as beans/legumes, high-fiber cereals, pumpernickel bread, oat bran, cabbage and most vegetables. Protein is another good food to eat to curb appetite. You fill up fast on protein because the amino acids in protein prompt a signal that tells the brain you're getting enough. Protein also stays in your stomach longer than carbohydrate or fat.
9.Prepare for parties. Research suggests that you eat more when having a meal with a large group of people. Don't go into a party situation hungry or thirsty. Eat some low-fat protein and drink a glass of water within one hour of when you plan to eat. And of course, remember to enjoy the company and the conversation. Eating with other people is about so much more than the food!
10. Be mindful. Staying mindful of your weight and health goals is also a good way to calm your appetite and get things in perspective. When your appetite screams out "Feed me!" it's always wise to take a minute to picture yourself slim and healthy, and then decide whether you are still hungry.

bible scripture, remodeling, Happy 4th
Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
------------
Sorry I have not been on in a couple of things. We've been busy trying to get some projects done and for the past few days the weather has been nice and cool, so I've been doing a little work outside. It maybe nice and cool but the allergie index was still high. It seemed for every hour I spent outside I spent 4 hours stuffed up and blurred vision. lol. But things are weeded, kinda.
---------
We went to look at wall paper borders for the craft/computer room. I want something brite and cheery and all I could find was flowers or country motifs. I'm talking about bright bold colors that make the room cheerful and enjoyable to be in their. Maybe a sunflower design with a bold yellow 1/2 way up the wall and brite white on the bottom 1/2. BRITE, BRITE white on the ceiling. The other that caught my eye was a light house theme, which I love, but think it would be better in the bathroom. With a Bright red and pure white for the ceiling with maybe a blue accent color. I can see it in my minds. But getting it to come across the walls is another story.
-------------
Happy 4th everyone. I don't know if I will be on here this weekend or not. If not, be safe, have fun and most importantly keep Christ alive, even in your 4th of July fun. With him ALL things are possible.

Shaded yellow BB. Textured.
This is a textured, baby blanket. (I still need to get the rest of the trim on it. Ran out of the yellow. arggg.) This is a gift for a friend of my son's who wife is having a chold #4, a boy. I LOVE this pattern. Stitches up fast and easy. Looks so pretty. I had to use a combination of yarns. The yellow and white is Caron Simply soft. The variegated yellow is Peaches & Cream, "yellow ombre". I could not find any yellow multi color yarn that I liked, except this brand. It's really for wash clothes. But the colors matched beautifuly. Although a little heavy. It would really be more appropriate for a fall or winter baby. Not a summer one. Oh well. O yea, the hook is a "K". The pattern is off of an ol site. I'll have to look up the name later and added here. She makes blankies for premies and posted her pattern to give as gifts or charity. I do have a green & cream one with a matching hat, that I made for charity. One of these day's I'll get that pic posted. And yes, Peaches & Cream makes the most wonderful duable dish clothes. I love them too. And I use this same pattern for them.

Flea Market Finds

Crocheting
This is an assortment of scarfs I've been working on and my 1st baby hat.
The white hat was suppose to be for a premie but it came out a little big.
The Dk. blue & multi is a ripple. (I'm practicing. Still looks like a wave to me.)
The block scarf, started out as a bb, but I didn't like how it was looking, so I quit with one row, added some circles and fringe and its now a scarf. The 3rd and to the right, was a row started by ???. I found the yarn at a flea market. The first row was completed, so why let good, hard work go to waste. I completed a few more rows in dbl. stitch and added the fringe.
All the scarfs go for a kids charity. The hat for a great neice.

Scripture & Prayer
Zechariah 14:9 (NIV) The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.
The LORD will be king over the whole earth. Isn't that just an absolutely wonderful feeling, knowing someday HE will rule this world and we christians will be a part of that world.
Lord, again thank you for all you do. Continue to keep us safe and in your loving arms. You know my prayer list is long and includes many, so I don't feel I need to tell you who they are and their needs. If it is in your will, meet their needs. Lord thank you for dropping the temptures down. It was wonderful. Continue to bless us and keep us, in your name we pray. Amen.
