New scarfs & hat I'm working on

Some projects i've been working on this weekend. The top one is a receiving blanket that I crocheted around. I found the blanket at the goodwill, it was brand new, still had new tag and I paid .99cents for it. _________The 2nd one is a scarf made out of scrap yarn in a several granny's. All the yarn is RH. Next to it is an hat, I was just working in circles in sc and then did dbl stitches. Caron simply soft in bone and the dk blue is a scarp ball with no tag.________
Next is the start of scarf using the ripple pattern and made out of scarp yarn. I love the way it is looking and its a ripple. Yippeee. _________The third is a two tones of pink mixed with tan, done in a combination broomstick and textured pattern at the end. I really like how the colors and the larger broomstick with less loops is making this one look. It wil go to Colorado I think.___ The 4th one is made of the same yarn as the broom stick. I'm just alternating rows of stitches. 3rows of sc, 3rows of double, 3 rows of triple then change colors and start again. This will be a charity scarf. More to come.

2 more blocks for my comfortghan

These are two more blocks I received for my comfortghans. Aren't they gorgeous. The camera phone just doesn't do them justice. I really should dig the camera out of my purse and take these pics somewhere other then my desk. Thank you TCarra.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Our heavenly father we thank you for the wonderful weekend you gave us. For keeping loved ones safe as they were out celebrating the 4th. Lord we ask that you continue your blessings as my husband makes his drive to Chicago for the week. Keep him safe. Lord I offer up a prayer for all those that I love that are sick (some with cancer, some with kidney disease, some with failure of there site, diabetes, lupus, fibromylasia, heart disease, MS, allergies, asthmas, COPD) The list seems so long, yet I know you are all powerful and can heal, comfort and protect all if it is your will.

Lord help me to be more open about a move to Chicag0. I know it would make things easier for my hubby. I know there are christians there, I know there are good people, communities there, help to get over this fear and if it is you will then I believe a house will open that is just meant to be ours. I will try to be open to your will, NO I will be open to your will.

Lord thank you for all you have done, continue to do. I am truly lucky to have you in my life. You are "ALL". I was made to love you & adore you. Amen

Isaiah 12:4

In that day you will say: "Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.
-----------
The rain is over and we seem to be back to a beautiful Sunday. I think!!! I really wouldn't know. I woke up sick this morning and i've slept most of the day, running hot on/off most of the night. Hubby and I shared a fuzzy navel yesterday and I guess it got to me. Can you believe 1 watered down fuzzy navel and I was out of it. Will make sure we don't do that one again.
Hubby has the sub floor down and is getting ready to lay the tile in the craft room. I doubt we will get to move stuff in this weekend. (I orginally wanted to paint the paneling and get some wall paper trim up, but that doesn't look like it will happen. (so sad) I could only find one store that had wp in stock and that was menards. It was such a sad selection. Home Depot and Lowes had a special order on their stuff. I did find a couple a walmart I liked, but it was not what " I really had invisioned and I'd rather not put anything up up then be unhappy with it later.
--------------
I'm getting ready to make a comfortsquare for a friend and I could have swore I had "rose" colored yarn in my stash. It turns out its a "plum wine and a baby blush". Arggg, I still call it a rose color. It will have to do though. I've been put on yarn restrictions by myself for awhile.

I worked on what was suppose to be a baby hat yesterday. I messed up somewhere. Wrong hook, to many rounds, not sure but it fits my head now. I made two baby hats a few months ago and they were fine, now I can't get it again. hmmmm. Brain burp or something. Not much else going on. I'm still working on my ripple blanket, a ripple scarf and some other odd projects. I need to get to work on Sasha's queen comforter, but I've run out of steam on it and just feel like piddling around with little things at the moment. Hopefuly i'll get inspired this next week. I also have a shawl I need to start on. I have an idea on it, but can't get to technically incase my swap partner is reading this site.

Well thats it for this Sunday. Happy day after 4th.

Ten Way to Tame your appetite

I know most of us know this, but I feel with the 4th upon us and a fun filled, pack summer it bears repeating. Have a wonderful 4th and please be safe and responsible. Goldie
Ten Ways to Tame your Appetite (www.calorieking.com)
~ Weight Loss Tips ~
1.Don't get too hungry. It may seem obvious, but if you want to control your appetite, it's important not to get too hungry. If you don't eat enough, you'll easily get too hungry and cave in to high calorie, fast-energy foods. Eat regular meals and two planned snacks a day to avoid getting too hungry.
2. Ask yourself if you're truly hungry. "Emotional hunger" is what prompts you to eat when you're not physically hungry. True hunger only occurs when you have not had enough calories or fat to satisfy physiological needs. If you feel hungry, think about when you last ate and what you ate, and whether or not you have physical symptoms of hunger such as lightheadedness and a rumbling stomach. If you're not physically hungry, ask yourself if there are other reasons why you feel like eating, such as stress or boredom, and respond to those triggers with something other than food. For example, go for a walk, dig some weeds, or call a friend.
3. Drink water and take ten. Sometimes, what you recognize as hunger is actually thirst. If you feel hungry, try drinking a glass of water, take some deep breaths and tell yourself that you can eat, but in ten minutes. If you are not truly hungry, the feeling will pass after ten minutes and you will have saved on calories. Or if it doesn't pass, nothing is lost - you can eat something to curb the hunger.
4. Let yourself feel a little hunger. If you're feeling hungry after a meal or snack, keep in mind that it's also okay to feel less than full after you've eaten. In fact, most people who have lost weight and kept it off have learned to be comfortable with this feeling.
5. Don't get too tired. Too little sleep affects hunger and appetite hormones adversely. If you're struggling to control your appetite, make sure that you're getting enough sleep.
6. Steer clear of appetitestimulating foods. Keep foods that tempt you out of your line of sight - out of the house, away from your desk, out of the car. Remember - out of sight, out of mind!
7.Beware of buffets. Appetites go into overdrive when eating at a buffet. In fact, people eat up to 60 percent more when there is variety. Commit to eating no more than three selections, and take your time eating, allowing the food to digest slowly.
8. Eat appetite-curbing foods. Some foods stimulate appetite while others satisfy it. Low-fiber and caloriedense foods, such as candy and cookies, generally increase appetite. On the other hand, high-fiber, bulky foods curb appetite. So when you get a hunger pang, don’t reach for the cookie jar, instead grab a tasty, highfiber, low-calorie food to get you through the initial pang. Particularly good are foods such as beans/legumes, high-fiber cereals, pumpernickel bread, oat bran, cabbage and most vegetables. Protein is another good food to eat to curb appetite. You fill up fast on protein because the amino acids in protein prompt a signal that tells the brain you're getting enough. Protein also stays in your stomach longer than carbohydrate or fat.
9.Prepare for parties. Research suggests that you eat more when having a meal with a large group of people. Don't go into a party situation hungry or thirsty. Eat some low-fat protein and drink a glass of water within one hour of when you plan to eat. And of course, remember to enjoy the company and the conversation. Eating with other people is about so much more than the food!
10. Be mindful. Staying mindful of your weight and health goals is also a good way to calm your appetite and get things in perspective. When your appetite screams out "Feed me!" it's always wise to take a minute to picture yourself slim and healthy, and then decide whether you are still hungry.

bible scripture, remodeling, Happy 4th

Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
------------
Sorry I have not been on in a couple of things. We've been busy trying to get some projects done and for the past few days the weather has been nice and cool, so I've been doing a little work outside. It maybe nice and cool but the allergie index was still high. It seemed for every hour I spent outside I spent 4 hours stuffed up and blurred vision. lol. But things are weeded, kinda.
---------
We went to look at wall paper borders for the craft/computer room. I want something brite and cheery and all I could find was flowers or country motifs. I'm talking about bright bold colors that make the room cheerful and enjoyable to be in their. Maybe a sunflower design with a bold yellow 1/2 way up the wall and brite white on the bottom 1/2. BRITE, BRITE white on the ceiling. The other that caught my eye was a light house theme, which I love, but think it would be better in the bathroom. With a Bright red and pure white for the ceiling with maybe a blue accent color. I can see it in my minds. But getting it to come across the walls is another story.
-------------
Happy 4th everyone. I don't know if I will be on here this weekend or not. If not, be safe, have fun and most importantly keep Christ alive, even in your 4th of July fun. With him ALL things are possible.

The end of June

Can you believe it's the last day of June. I saw something on another site, I just loved and i've been trying to recreate here, with no luck. It will only let me have one picture on the side bar and its of hubby and me. I wanted to create a monthly collage of my pictures I posted over the month and post it under our pic. NO such luck. So here is the collage for the month of June as a regular post. And just as I hit post, I realized how to do it. So forgive the duplicate.
For more info on a certain pic you will have to go to that post. ****

Comfortghan blocks from Crazybunny

These two blocks were sent to be by a freind over at the "crochetville", Crazybunny. They will go into a comfortghan I am working on. I also sent her a couple of my blocks and you know what I never took a pic. of them. I've sent out several blocks and not taken a pic. of any of them. How bad is that. lol. oh well.

Shaded yellow BB. Textured.

This is a textured, baby blanket. (I still need to get the rest of the trim on it. Ran out of the yellow. arggg.) This is a gift for a friend of my son's who wife is having a chold #4, a boy. I LOVE this pattern. Stitches up fast and easy. Looks so pretty. I had to use a combination of yarns. The yellow and white is Caron Simply soft. The variegated yellow is Peaches & Cream, "yellow ombre". I could not find any yellow multi color yarn that I liked, except this brand. It's really for wash clothes. But the colors matched beautifuly. Although a little heavy. It would really be more appropriate for a fall or winter baby. Not a summer one. Oh well. O yea, the hook is a "K". The pattern is off of an ol site. I'll have to look up the name later and added here. She makes blankies for premies and posted her pattern to give as gifts or charity. I do have a green & cream one with a matching hat, that I made for charity. One of these day's I'll get that pic posted. And yes, Peaches & Cream makes the most wonderful duable dish clothes. I love them too. And I use this same pattern for them.

Flea Market Finds

The first here, is a granny. I found it at the flea market for a $1.00. It just happens to match a "kit" I'm working on. So I'll join the two and make a large cover for our bed. Can you believe a dollar. I love it.
The 2nd is a ripple. I paid $2.00 for it. I bought it for a few reasons. 1--for a guide, since my ripples still look like waves. (Which is ok, they are pretty, just not what I want @ this moment). 2-I can't make it for that price and I'm not going to let a deal like this pass me by. 3--I think it will be perfect for a gift or chairty.

Crocheting

This is an assortment of scarfs I've been working on and my 1st baby hat.
The white hat was suppose to be for a premie but it came out a little big.
The Dk. blue & multi is a ripple. (I'm practicing. Still looks like a wave to me.)
The block scarf, started out as a bb, but I didn't like how it was looking, so I quit with one row, added some circles and fringe and its now a scarf. The 3rd and to the right, was a row started by ???. I found the yarn at a flea market. The first row was completed, so why let good, hard work go to waste. I completed a few more rows in dbl. stitch and added the fringe.
All the scarfs go for a kids charity. The hat for a great neice.

Scripture & Prayer

Zechariah 14:9 (NIV) The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.

The LORD will be king over the whole earth. Isn't that just an absolutely wonderful feeling, knowing someday HE will rule this world and we christians will be a part of that world.

Lord, again thank you for all you do. Continue to keep us safe and in your loving arms. You know my prayer list is long and includes many, so I don't feel I need to tell you who they are and their needs. If it is in your will, meet their needs. Lord thank you for dropping the temptures down. It was wonderful. Continue to bless us and keep us, in your name we pray. Amen.

Learning to crochet

http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/ When I first wanted to learn how to do other stitches then just a chain stich and broomsticks I ran across this site. The lady is FABULOUS in her utube how-to video's. It doesn't get much clearer than this folks. So if you want to try your hand at crocheting, give her a look-see. You will love it and get bitten.

Prayer Monday

Mark 6:56 Wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made well.
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Our heavenly father we thank you for your bountiful blessings. We pray to thee, to guide the leaders of this country, to convict them to do what is in your will and not what they "think" is best. To please leave "YOU"!! Our power, our strength into our very lives, which at this time is being threatened. Do they not realize that with out you we are nothing. This country is nothing. We pray for those in Utah who are being hit by the swarms of grasshoppers, give them the strength of "Job" to endure this hardship. We pray for hubby's aunt, that she may find a kidney Donner soon. We pray for those who are struck with cancer, heal their body if it is your will, give them and their families strength to deal with the everyday battles of this awful disease. Also we pray for all the people who have ALL disease's. Diabetes, lupus, fybromylasia, arthritis and so many more. Each has its own set of problems and ways of dealing with these illnesses. All take a toll on the the one sick and the loved ones around them. Bless all those around us, near and dear to us, and even our enemies. Open hearts to the wonder and beauty that you have created and to your son Jesus Christ. Who's name we pray in. Amen.

I really crave fruit juice this time of the year. Really wish it was so loaded with sugars. argggg. anyway. Goodnight everyone Have a blessed evening. Huggs

Center ball pull

http://laughingpurplegoldfish.blogspot.com/2008/08/winding-yarn.html For those of you who don't want to spend the money on a yarn winder (OMG the price) I ran across this site and it makes winding a center pull ball of yarn look....well as the owner of this above site says "easy peasy". Any way i've done it a few times now and I love it. I'm really looking forward to making a magic ball for someone and sending it to them. (A bunch of little goodies stuffed inside the ball of yarn. Just so neat.

I obsessed, no it can be

Well I've decided I'm obsessed with crocheting. You know your in bad shape when you start one project from the center of the skein and the next thing you know you have another project going from the outer part of the skein. Then walla the two pieces of yarn are all twisted up. Happen to anyone else?

To add to my obsession we went to the flea market this morning and what did I come home with. Crochet books and leaflets, some 10 thread for doily's and yes MORE yarn. Some of it was the softies pink baby yarn, and since I have a great niece due, I had to have it. Now buying the yarn would not be so bad, but my MIL has decided to quit crocheting and guess what they left at our door yesterday. A huge black garbage bag of.........you guessed it, yarn. (I'm wondering if they have been behind the mysterious bags of yarn showing up at my door all along.)

I think I am what they fondly call a stash-aholic and crochet-aholic. It is almost like I live for my next find of yarn, I crave the feel and the touch of the yarn. I NEED THAT FIX. But its not like the stuff sits here and goes to waste. Nope!!! I crochet, and I crochet and then I crochet some more. I go into WM, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, Michaels and the YARN asiles call to me. The clearnce aisle calls to me. Then I see all those yarns, all those endless possiblitites and the brain is off and thinking, and the hands are picking up and the next thing you know, I have a dozen skiens in my cart. Then I put them back, then I put them back in the cart, and then I put them back, then I think. Just a "little" reward, I did such a good job a folding those clothes, I lost two whole pounds. I guess it could be worse, I could have a clothing problem. Oh wait, I like clothes, too. OOOps!!! Then we have the "Thank god for computers". I have enough downloads of what would be called "store leaflets" to probably fill 3 huge note books, but because of the computer I can store it all in one teeny, tiny little space. (Of course finding the pattern again, maybe another story. LOL.)

Which brings up a whole new list of problems. Did I save the file under "fridgies", or "appliques", "baby afghans" or "afghans". Did I save that cute little block under "grannies", or "Squares" or "Blocks", or "Motifs". Did I save it to my hard drive or did I put it in my favorites lists. Which leads me to believe I need to develope a filing system for my stuff. Hmmm, or better yet, have hubby create a program that will track the stuff for me. Hmmmm, me thinks I should go put on some mascara and "bat my eyes'" and say please and maybe he will do it for me. hehe. I know, I'm "bad". I just can't help myself. Which is why I am in such a predicument. I CAN'T HELP MYSELF. With yarn, with yarn notions, with yarn hooks, with yarn books and leaflets. With idea's, pouring out of my poor little brain and fingers that don't work fast enough to create all the darling, just gotta make, "What?", (You want how much for that Item???,) I can make IT, I must make IT. As of now I conteplating a move just so I can have another room. A three BR house or trailer would be much nicer than a two. I'd make one a guest room, and then make the guest sleep on the floor, because I would have yarn, and afghans and all sorts of goodies (yarn wise) taking up that space. lol. So what do you think?? Am I addicted?? Maybe, Maybe not yet. But I'm well on my way. And such a fun way to go.

I obsessed, no it can be

Scripture

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
