Saturday--what a weekend

James 1:12 --Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Well we got that wonderful storm in Friday. It knocked over my swing, and my wishing well. What a mess in the yard again, more downed branches. And then sometime Friday the air-conditoner in the bedroom quit. Another appliance replacement in under a month. arggg. I gues that is my trial

The end of the day & WL

Today was a messy day. We had tree limbs down from the strom we got hit with early Thrusday morning and didn't have power for awhile. (I hear its suppose to hit again Friday afternoon.) So we gathered all the limbs up and put them in a pile, for the trailer park to pick up when they get around to it???? That could takes week, they are very slow here. "We" really means my son Bryan. I've been trying to make a "real" ripple afghan and not that mess that is shown it one of my posts. I've ripped it out three times. Each time I count my chains. I have 31 like the pattern says, but yet I end up short 2 chains. The 4th time I marked every 10 stitches (3 markers + 1 extra ==31 right??) by my calculations too. Did the first row and guess what I'm still short two chains. Btw the pattern is from blog attic24 easy ripple pattern. Another blogger suggested it on her site for beginners. So, I guess tomorrow when I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed i'm gonna work on the 1st row and see if thats where i'm loosing my two stitches. She makes it plain and simple. Maybe I just can follow plain and simple. lol.

Anyway: What did I eat today. Breakfast was corn flakes w/splenda and a glass of milk. I wanted toast, but no electric. Lunch--A tuna fish sandwhich w/lettuce, pickles, onion, black olive and chopped green peppers and olive oil mayo. Dinner was just a cheese burger on 1/2 a bun w/pickle, onion, ketchup and mustard. And a small dinner salad & v/o dressing. I had a 1/4c of pickles for a snack. of course my hot tea, ice tea and water through out the day and 16oz bottle of diet pepsi 0.

Lord bless everyone, near and dear to me. Thank you for keeping us all safe through the strom. Watch over my sissy and her husband as she continues to travel & vacation. Thank you for giving hubby his perm position hire at his job today. In this day and age thats alot. Thank you for all your blessings each & every day. Amen.

Since I missed scripture here it is this evening. I feel very blessed so its very appropriate.
Numbers 6:24-26"The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."

Finaly power is back on

We had an awful rain storm here last night/this morning and power has been in and out all day. Finally it is on to stay it looks like.

I didn't get my morning scripture posted or a prayer because of all that, but I got some things accomplished around the house. The kitchen is nice and clean and shiny. Pulled stuff out of the cupboards and scrub cupboards down and put down new shelf liner. (With son's help of course). Until he finds work, he is a maid of sorts. Earns money for his rent/utilities and groceries. Helps us both out. Then we went grocery shoping and he spent more than he earned. hehe. He may be on his own, but he still has a hollow leg. lol.

I hope everyone is having a good day. Goldie

Good day--kinda

For the most part today has been ok. The swelling is there in my hands but going down. There are days when I just love pain pills. I've slept on & off. Diet has been also on/off.

Breakfast: Left over spag. from Son's dinner. 1 cup, and 1/2 piece of garlic toast. I know what a breakfast. I knew I had to eat something and cooking just wasn't it today. Hot tea

Snack: Watermelon slices (2) Salt substitute used on it.

Lunch: A dinner salad, with one pack of salad crackers and V/O dressing. Iced tea

Dinner: A turkey sandwhich, with olive oil mayo and tomato slices. Salt subsitute and pepper

Snack: other 1/2 of orange from yesterday.

I've said some choice words today. I apparently don't know the difference between 16 inches and 20 inches. Two of my purple squares are the wrong size. (I picked up the wrong hook) So I'm gonna have to rip them out and restart. If I knew for sure I had enough yarn. I'd leave them for the pillow shams. Maybe I still will. If I don't have enough I can rip them out in the end.
A little note, a zip lock bag. Yep thats what i'll do. Can I blame it on the pain medication???

A busy morning

As you can see, I was busy this morning, gathering my projects and getting them posted. I still have a bag of afghans to post. A few hats and premies blankets. And various blocks for chairities for this coming fall and other projects. (where ever they are needed.) Most of these items still need the ends weaved in and the fringe put on them or edging or both and then the tags. But I wanted to get them posted. I hope you enjoy viewing them. Please remember these are my pics. Don't post without permission. If you like something and want to know more, I'll try and find the pattern and info for it. I only recently started keeping a notebook and better track of what I used, who's pattern and so on. At the time I started messing with this It never occured to me that people would like credit for their pattern being used. So if I used your pattern and did not give you credit it was not intentional. Let me know and I'll cure the problem. I doing this for fun at this time. Not for profit. I give away my items. At this point i've not charged for stuff, although I've had some inquiries, and will have to think about since they are "BIG" projects.

I don't know about you but i've found I cannot eat and crochet. So this is good WL therapy. I can watch tv and eat, play on the computer and eat, read and eat, but I CANNOT CROCHET and eat. So maybe if I keep busy I'll keep losing.

Donated squares

I received these in the mail yesterday. They are from Theresea out of New York. A member of the ville. They are my first squares received. They will go into two comfortghans for a couple of "special" people. I can't name names, is case they are lurking at this site. lol. This will be my first project of this type. I was hoping I would complete it sooner, but I'm a slow crocheter and donations have not come in as fast as I had hoped. But it will get done in time. And it will be special. Thanks Theresea and bless you.

Doiley

This is my very first doily done with a CAL on crochetville. I'm so proud of it. I never thought I would work with "thread". We are suppose to do one a week. I doubt that will happen. Maybe one a month. It was hard, but I'm proud of the results. This will go under one of my Precious Moments pieces that my son Bryan has gotten me over the years. I'll need to make several to go under several of them I have. But it will take time. Oh its 10 thread and done with 1/2" steel hook.

corner to corner shades of yellow

This is a corner/corner in shade of yellow. Balls of yarn from ???? A first for me. It was hard pattern to follow. And I'm not sure which one. Since I had problems with the pattern I deleted it. (So sad, now that I'm more experienced in reading patterns I would like to try again.) I know I used a h hook.

Aqua Delight

I call this one Aqua delight. All the yarn is RH. Each section I used a full skeen of yarn until it was gone. Each section I was practicing a certain stitch. Textured, V-stitch and couple I was try to come up with own my own. It was fun with fun colors. I know this will go to colorado. I'm hoping I have a couple of great neices or nephew that will like it. I have a couple of others like this in other colors. Bright & Bold

White dble stitch "bouncle"

this is a white dbl stitch made with soft "Bouncle" not sure if the name is correct. The skeens had only one label and it was barely there. (They were a thrift store find.) The yarn was so soft. It took 9 skeens, I had three or four and then had to go find something close to it. I used a large hook. P, I believe. I love the softness of this one, the yarn was a bit of a pain. Always catching on the hook. But I enjoyed making this one. Not sure who will get it. Some of these things will go out to colorado with me. If I go this summer.

roundish afghan

I started practice making rounds and got bored. I saw something like this on a site, but couldn't follow the distructions. So I "frogged" it and played with it and this is what I got. I really like the colors and the way it came out. Could I do it again. Not sure, but I'll try sometime. Again, Scrap balls and H hook. I think this will go to SIL out in Colorado. I'm think this may be her colors. Not sure, so we will feel it out.

first ripple. arggg

This is my first ripple. The ripples are really off. I lost my valley and peaks several times. It was made with scrap yarn and will go to one of "Nonie's" kids from Crochetville. Yes I know I've got to get some of these charity sites links here so you can go check them out. They are so worth while. You'll also notice I had problems making the photo smaller to fit, I am getting better at this as you will see in more posts. LOL. A work in progress.

ScrapeGrannyAfghan "NONIE's charity

This is a scrap granny. Made with more balls of yarn either given to me or bought at thrift store. I used a K hook and changed the reg pattern a bit to make it go faster. This is for one of Nonie's kids from Crochetville. I need to make many more. At least the ends are weaved in on this one and the edging done. A WIP accomplished. Yippee.

PurplePassionGrannyComforterStarted

These are done in Coral/ lt purple, white, plumpudding, and dark purple for the trim. They are 20x20" and will be used in a queensize bed spread or comforter for a special young lady. The coral was some thrift store find from K-mart tag still on them 3 skiens. The lt purple and white are balls of scrap yarn out of a bag given me. I bought the the plumpudding and the dark purple. I hope she likes it. If i have enough, I'll make matching shams. I just noticed the date on my camera is off. So ignore it.

Some more crochet pictures i've done over the year.

These are some assorted scarfs. Two of the patch work scarfs were done with practice stitch blocks. I couldn't see letting the blocks go to waste so I made scarfs out of them. Both of them are made with RH assorted colors. The two white ones were made with RH and dbl stitch using a a K hook. One with fringe and one with an edging I was expermenting with. I think I will take these out to Colorado with me for family to pick and choose from it they want. If you want to know more. I'll try to remember. I've only recently started to keep a note book with all the info. on my procedures with these.

Good morning

"We love Him because He first loved us."1 John 4:9-10. Today is a wonderful day. The swelling in my hands has gone down drastically and the headache has let up, its still lurking in the back ground, but its much better. I still seem to be cold on/off. But at least its more off then on and I slept wonderfuly. I even accomplished a thing or two this morning. Yippe for me. I hope your day has started out as well too.

Lord Thank you!!! For taking my pain away, for giving me a good nights rest. For allowing me to wake up to one of your wonderful mornings. Bless all those who are near and dear to me. Even my enemies. For even they need loving and blessing. Thanks for all you do. Amen.

WL and Emotions and my food for the day

WL and Emotions and my food for the day
Today was not a very good day for me, all the way around. I hurt, I was emotional and I fell off the food wagon. I wasn’t seriously bad about the food part, but still bad enough. Now I know I’m not the only one who eats when they are emotional. So if you are reading this blog. I’d like to know about your day, and how you handle "eating" habits on the bad days and even the good days. What are your stress factors?? What is your favorite "diet" food? (I hate the word diet and try not to use it). I’m changing my life habits!!! What is the one food that no matter what, you will not do with out??
Food Intake:
Breakfast: Oatmeal and slice of toast. Hot herbal tea. Snack: ½ orange and a 12 oz bottle of diet coke. Lunch: Soup and 5 crackers. Dinner: Rueben Sandwhich with horseradish and thousand island dressing, 2 pickles and cup cottage cheese and ice tea. Snack: Evening watermelon. I drink water all day long, so I don’t count it in when I figuring things.

Good morning or not

Well I orginally tried to post this at 7 am, however for some reason
I could not get the site to post. So here we go again.

Do you ever feel like you should just stay in bed? Well I did. I woke up with
a headache, my joints ache, and my hands and feet are very swelled. Add to that
my sugar which was 115 when I went to bed was 175. I feel, crabby, B*** and just
full of pain. I woke up freezing. Turned off all the airconditoners and turned
my electric blanket on and the little heater by my desk on to low. I just can't seem
to warm up. When my sugar goes up, I suffer a personality change. its like the
devil has taken over. Add to that, I received a not so nice email this morning
from a dear family memeber and I took her head off. Hmmm, I offended this person,
without any intentions of doing so. Such is life with family. They like to express their
opinion, but hate it when others do. Now having said all that, am I coming down with
something or is the fibromyalsia raising its ugly head? Both can make my sugar go up.
So for today pray for me. Lord give me the strength to deal with this pain,
to not let it take over my body and my personality. Lord give me the strength
and endurance of "JOB". I believe all things are possible through you. Amen.

Todays Scripture. Tuesday July 16 2009

Revelation 5:13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!"

WL & headed for bed

Well its bed time and then some. But I just wanted to vent. I got a very discouraging letter from my WL group I belong to. Two more people want to drop out and some are accusing others of cheating. It just makes me so sad. WL is so hard and people need to be supportive of each other. Even in times of "medical" reasons, what ever they maybe, our goal is still to lose weight and at the very most not gain during that time. Since most of don't really know each other, (some are family and some are friends invited by family) its hard to know who is "really" losing weight. But in the end if, if someone is cheating, they really are only hurting themselves. After all the goal is not the money, but the WL and a healthy, better you. The money is an incentive. I won one quarter and used the money for smaller size clothes and towards a dishwasher. Most went towards clothes. I even gave way my old clothes, trying to make sure I don't go back up in size.

There is no easy way to lose the weight, but support is a big part of it. So if your reading this email, you have my support and you can talk to me about it if you need to vent. But vent nicely. I may vent too. Have a good night. Prayers for all.

God, please grant us the strength to deal with the little things life throws our way. Keep us safe and in your loving arms. And Lord, knowing you have a humourous side. "If we can't keep our big mouths shut when we should, please put your hand over it." Keep those who are ill physically, strong mentally. Keep my children, hubby, grandchildren and bro and sisters and all those close to me safe. Thank you lord for all your blessings big and little. Amen.
